Since leaving behind
pointless concern for
how others see me, I’m free
from acting my life.
Since leaving behind
believing “I am this,
I am not that”,
no organ-grinder, no monkey.
Since leaving behind
any need to get
something before I can rest,
I rest safe in this.
Since leaving behind
always doing
to find peace,
in peace, it does itself.
Since leaving behind
endless effort to
avoid bad stuff,
life’s no enemy.
Since leaving behind
the welfare
of future me,
where did that fiction go?
Since leaving behind
my point of view,
I see everyone’s story.
Everything is story.
Since leaving behind
rules for
‘right’ and ‘wrong’,
I listen for regrets.
Since leaving behind
it should be that,
no comparisons,
perfect This!
Since everything’s
already left behind,
I’m free
as the brink of death.
Since leaving behind leaving behind,
no-one to leave it,
nothing left
but Now!
