I took refuge with a Tibetan Dharma teacher in 1982, Geshe Damchõ Yonten, and have practised in the Gelug and Nyingma traditions, also in the Burmese Theravadin “Vipassana” tradition of S.N. Goenka. I have trained in NVC (“Non Violent Communication”, also called “Compassionate Communication”) since being introduced to it by Marshall Rosenberg in 2004. I have also worked with Arnie Mindell, Erik Bruijn, Byron Katie and Bentinho Massaro.
I have lineage connections with Geshe Damchõ (Gelug), Chime Rigdzin Rinpoche (“C.R. Lama”, Nyingma), 12th Tai Situpa (Kagyu), and more recently the following Kagyu and Nyingma Lamas: Khenpo Tsultrim Gyamtso Rinpoche, Lama Shenpen Hookham, Rigdzin Shikpo Rinpoche, Jamyang Tashi Dorje Rinpoche, and Khandro Rinpoche. I have received teachings from many other Tibetan teachers including H.H. Dalai Lama, Ngakpa Chõgyam and Ringu Tulku Rinpoche.
I joined the Awakened Heart Sangha of Lama Shenpen in 2000, and was asked to teach in 2006; I am a member of the European Buddhist Teachers group, and in 2015 represented the AHS at a world conference of Buddhist teachers in America. My teacher is Lama Shenpen.
